Five Short Advices from Five Best-Selling Books So You Won’t Have to Read Them

I know you’re in a hurry and got no time to study, so I made time to summarize best-selling books. Studies show that you forget over 95% of what you read after a month. I’ve read all these books and I swear this is all what I remember.

Kidding aside, the short-form advices can really be found in these books. Of course, they don’t perfectly summarize the books, but they work wonders once applied.

  1. Do your one thing. (from The One Thing by Gary Keller) If you’re a writer go write. If you’re an artist produce your art. Many try to distract themselves and end up not producing at all. Just do your thing. Don’t look for validation. You don’t need permission
  2. Then do the the opposite of what most people do. (from 13 Things Mentally Strong People Don’t Do by Amy Morin) Ears are all over the place, and there is a fear of missing out. Don’t fear alone time. Don’t pretend that you’re working if you’re not. If you fail, don’t dwell on mistakes. Keep trying even if it means changing what you’ve done to gain different result. Keep trying.
  3. Just play. (from The Almanack of Naval Ravikant: Guide to Wealth and Happiness by Naval Ravikant) Do your thing that feels like work to others. You’d work hard, but you won’t suffer.
  4. Be consistent. (from Atomic Habits by James Clear) I have mentioned this over and over again, but superheroes are born from the mundane, repetitive habits. Muscles don’t build overnight and it takes too much time to do something worth it.
  5. Be mindful of your breathing. (from How to Stop Worrying and Start Living by Dale Carnegie) Breathe through your nose. Breathe deep often. Many situation will invite stress and things won’t be easy. However, if you can compose yourself, you’re already halfway in solving them.
